Mangaia of the Cook Islands...
South Pacific

How to get there

After a long search of possible destinations to observe the eclipse, we decided to visit Mangaia of the Cook Islands. The month of July is one of its dryest months and the Island is the first from where the eclipse will be visible. It follows French Polynesia and Easter Island. We will have 3 minutes and 13.4 seconds of totality.

The time difference is exactly 12 hours and that makes it a trip of 2,5 days with stops in Dubai, Sydney, Aukland and Rarotonga.

We are staying at Ara Moana bungalows, at a local house rented by Jan Kristensson just for us. You can check his website for more information.
